Got 19th today and got a little money. Yada, Yada break went up the road... Last lap Ryan from RBM and I go off the front about 5K to go going for maybe top 10... We hold it till inside a K. Then I re-sprinted and didn't do to well... Should have stayed in the field... O well at least I raced my bike today.
Also having a teammate might be nice... How many moves can I cover?

Another Weekend Mind Screw Down.
Long weekend.
Walberg Road Race - 10 miles in there we 5 dudes off the front when it started getting really windy and raining. One guy rolled away at some point... I soloed up to him the we were caught in no mans land for a long time. A fast pair caught us. they caught the lead break then I fell back to the 1st chasing group. Then the chasing group caught the lead break. We whittled it down to 6 or so... With 5 or so miles to go two dudes road away then 2 more. I couldn't go... I ended up 10. 2k from the finish a small group caught us... (The moto ref said we were the only ones left of the race of 70 strong so we all just started to chill...) I gave a strong go with a K to go but ended up short... All and all an ok race but really disappointing.

in the break feeling good.
Pace Bend Circuit Race - with a field 140 strong we averaged faster then 26 I think. I went with moves all through out the race and was sitting really nice with 2k to go... The I lost it I got to see josh sprinting again... He got second. This race was even more disappointing... It was just a nice bike ride again...
---
For the first time every in my racing "career" losing a race is starting to piss me off. The fire is building and it feels great. It is kind of like when I played paintball. Every game or turny we went to we were expected to win and we did. But when we lost... It would hurt more then anything... I am glad this competitive fire has returned. welcome back!

Next up...
Walburg/Pace Bend, we leave tomorrow.
Walburg is going to be a Cat2 only race which is cool.
Pace Bend Is a P/1/2 race with Chris Wherry riding with Stefan and the other big hitters on TX Tough. How cool is that...? I wonder if that Orven team from Mexico is going to show up?

Should be a fun weekend with good racing.

VOS Crit.
Well that went a little better. I got 10th. I rode the race in the top ten till I clipped a pedal in the corner and de-beaded my clincher tire. It was going "thump-thump" for half a lap at like 28mph. I decided that it might blow so I headed to the pit. It took them two laps to put a new one on... So the official said I had to be put back at the back of the stung out pack. So after I cooled down and re-sprinted it took me quite a few matches to get back to the front. In the last few laps a couple dudes went off the front but I though it would be no big deal because there were teams with like 4-5 teammates that didn't make it. Well... The never came back and two more went off. That was the move I should have been in. But I was still banking on the bigger teams. I played the odds and lost.
Next weekend should be fun.
---
On a side note... WM Cat2 punks need to learn how to race they dropped the ball the whole weekend... And if the National Anthem is in ear shot you better respect.

Road Race.
Right at the blow of the whistle I attacked and stayed away by my self for a little over 10 miles till after the climb. After that Collin and I were both in multiple moves but nothing stuck. There was a team there with 7 or 8 dudes and they killed everything. Going up the last climb we moved up the side and was in a really good positions for the sprint. With 800 meters to go they neutralized it because of a big crash from earlier.
I was feeling really good and was never really in the hurt locker. I was super stoked that it was going to come down into a field sprint. O well Tomorrow is the crit.

Valley of the Sun
We are here.
I got like 77th in the 13 mile TT with no aero equipment. It Felt good though and I can't wait for the RR and Crit.
Collin got 23 but had a bad day on the bike.
I took tons of photos that I will post when I get back.

Bike/Frame Manufactures.
Can we please STOP making head tubes so big. I mean, I ride a 60cm but the head tubes are between 200-220mm that's HUGE. I would like a 180, I am not some old dude racing your bike and I don't like the look of an inverted stem...

Racing is ... hard.
Well I can say I finished the road race and many people did not. I may even pulled in a top 30 about 30 min back. haha I was even off the front right after the neutral roll out. Yeah I was "that" guy. But "they" wouldn't let me up the road that far. I lasted over a hour. Went with a couple moves and cleaned the gutters a few times then got kicked out the back on a small kicker a long with a couple other dudes and that was it.
I am still sick too. This crap sucks. I did get a nice tan though. haha

I miss you Minnesota.

Mental
So I haven't won a race in a long time and I really don't remember how... It's hard when you have raced for winners and other people for so long racing for yourself brings a whole new game.
Today was the easiest "ride" I have ever had. Did I win? No... Could I see Josh winning 10 yards up the road? Yes. Did I even try to get in the right position? No.
I need to get my head in the game.

Some Day...
Mr. De Facto...
on txbra.org is no longer going to post. He was trying to be funny but the schooling he received over the last few days proved he wasn't.
My new alias on txbra will be... "Lalla."
I think you'll see my posting go down. HAHAHA
Thanks to all my mentors!

Being Slow + Stefan = Pain
Well the race didn't quite go as planed... But Josh Carter Won and Jason Short got second. And my teammate in the 4/5s also got second and got $99.00!!! Collin got a top ten. So it wasn't all bad for the "Falls Posse."
Short race story: Jason got away with a dude right after neutral roll out. At some point before the crosswind section a half a dozen of us were trying to get off the front for what would seem like 10-15 min. It was a lot of attacks, bridging and counters. It was fun and I was in the mix. We hit the turn were I was not in the best position. I had to bridge up to the lead group where I was riding in the ditch on the wrong side of the road.... Then Stefan and Carter pasted me. Stefan then attack and I said good bye. I went to the last group which was about the 5th group back on the road. We caught everyone except the small group off the front about 2 min up. Well I wanted to get back in the race and tried to rally the 50+ peloton to actually pull though! Nahhh They would just attack me after I would do a 2-3min pull were no one would come around except a few dudes... After about 40 or so miles of this I got pissed and called it a day. Zone 2ed it the rest of the day
The best quote would have to be my directors after I picked up a few bottle. "Here's your water your riding back to the finish." And that was it... HAHA
Next race is in a few weeks.
