I was going to post a long rant about my experience at the one close by, but hell I need a job. No one wants to hire a Bio-Med part time. I have one place in mind and the dude already has 16 techs, He did say that his number of employees fluctuates daily though.
Anyone have experience with a temp agency?

Yes. Email me your resume and tell me what kind of temp job(s) you're looking for, and I'll be happy to spruce it up for you. I worked a a temp agency for over two years. The biggest mistakes I'd see from applicants were:
1) Not having job history, reference info, and resume with them.
2) Poor grooming. It may be a temp agency, but it should be treated as any other business interview: clean, pressed clothes; tie and jacket for guys. Men and women should keep their moustaches neatly groomed. If you smell like vinegar from three rooms away, you may be asked to leave.
3) Not turning off cell phones.
4) Inadequate experience for the type of job(s) they were applying for. For clerical work, you should have no less than 2 years of office experience, and office skills and software should be highlighted in your resume and on the application you complete.
5) Misrepresenting actual experience. Most agencies test typing & data entry speed, as well as the Microsoft Office suite. If you don't know your typing speed, don't "guess" that it's 75 wpm, and don't say you're an "expert" at Word unless you are familiar with the advanced functions.
6) General unprofessional behavior. All the usual interview etiquette applies: Arrive on time, be professional. Be honest on your application and if questioned in the interview about your work history. Agencies get a lot of applicants, so it doesn't take many "strikes" in a reference check to put an applicant at the bottom of their priority list.
