1st race report!

DFL... Fitness aside I'm not the best bike racer. I get way tooooo board and that's why I like kermesses. Go go go go go. If you you made the split that was it. If you didn't, well that's it too. No team tactics just stupid raw power. The race this weekend started with a break with all the teams right away (first time I didn't go right away). When it got to 5 min I yelled really loud "We are so Butt Fuc$ed" that brought out a few laughs from an other wise "all business" peloton. I then proceeded to make it a training ride and went to the front for a few times and pulled really hard for a long time... and covered a few attacks. the crosswind sections gave me no problems this year like the previous 2... Short story shorter, I attacked going in to a few rollers and made it to the top but couldn't hold on. I've done this race 3 times and have finished DFL at all of them I think.

It was a lot better race then last year and I've done almost no intervals where last year I was going a lot harder and had tons more miles.

Next race? Next weekend.

Mt. Lemmon

This hawk caught this little pigeon... there was feathers every where.

I didn't make it all the way to the top. I... didn't bring my cold weather stuff. I went up to 8000ft and my feet and hands were numb. So I went back down and only had to stop 5 times; my bike was shaking bad... or was that me? It was a long day. my legs still feel strong though.

Mazda 6 Wagon 100,000 mile review.

Here is a bad photo of it fully loaded.
I bought my Mazda 6 in 2005. I just got a new job and went into the dealer with a price in mind and what car I wanted, thanks to my friend FB. I wanted a striped down white wagon. For some reason the wagons weren't really that popular, so the dealer only had a fully decked out black one to take out for a test drive. It had leather and Bose stereo and 14 miles on the clicker. I loved the car. We went back inside and started to look for the white one I wanted. We found a few , but then the guy asked me what was the price I wanted to pay. I told him then he said he could do that with the one I just test drove, fully loaded. I think they just wanted to get if off the lot. So I bought her.

I have not even had to replace my brake pads yet... I have a lot of high way miles. The clutch is going because of how hard I drove her when she was newer (she can easily burn rubber 1st through 2nd gear and chirp the 3rd.) I've giving her oil changes about ever 3000-5000 miles and changed the tires a few times, I am currently rolling on Goodyear Eagles... That's it.

I have recently installed HID head and fog lamps which are a cool $50 buy. O yeah and it's the coolest going to bike race car with my rack system. I can hold 5 bikes now (I would like to get 2 more trays) and 6 wheels on the roof.

I have had so much fun in that car and I know other people have too. I love my car.

Gates Pass, The Shootout and the Mazda 6.

Did Gates Pass it was fun.

---

The Shootout was about as fun as I thought it was going to be. I had visions of being dropped right away. The watts were way to0 high for my third ride... There were too many splits and I was following some Garmin dude who missed it too... I didn't know the hill thing was coming up till everyone was crawling. I then passed a lot of folks and made the front of our group (2nd) for the sprint. I couldn’t contest the sprint into town... I was 5 wheel going into that stop light when it changed... the dude in front of me slammed on his brakes and everyone behind us went through it... Yeah is was classic cluster... I did get to see the Gray Wolf... he was all dressed in Gold and even had gold streamers.

It’s going to be a good year.

The Mazda clicked over 100,000 miles! I love this car, all she does is put out.
