It all started when I helped some nice girls put on their rear wheels.
I was going down hill to the school to start the race and almost got "Freded." This guy bumped the person next to him on his right then un-clipped and veered left rather quickly into my front wheel... Needless to say I stayed up and this guy didn't even say sorry...
The biggest team seen at the start was the Excel Cycling Team. Where were you guys Saturday? Excel Cycling Team = Fred All Stars.
I beat Stuart O'Grady, Frank Schleck, Stefan Schumacher and at least 20 Lances, well maybe it was 19 Lances. One guy had non team issued Zipp 404s on his Trek, Protour riders... Big Tom was no where in sight. :(
This was the first time I did a race like this and I was stressed. Everyone was a questionable rider. It didn't matter if you were on a P3, HED with bar end shifters or carbon Orbea. Ever time you said "on your left" they would look then veer into you or do something.
To sum it all up it was the State Fair of bike racing. I think I had more fun people watching then racing. And yes it was a race.
How come MCF couldn't have a booth at this place (I would work it just for the chicks)if they had one, I didn't see it? It was one of the biggest cycling events in MN. If we got just 1% of 1% of these people to race...
You can read more about it here, from the BCR crew.

Friday
Went out for a nice 35 mile ride today. The weather is beautiful I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be fun and HOT.
Most people waved to me today except:
1. A Birchwood woman.
2. Some guy all dressed up in his nice Assos kit.
I'm getting sick of waving... If some one waves I'll wave, but it's a big weight to carry on your shoulders when you have to initiate the wave. What if they don't wave back?
Its like saying I love you to some one with nothing in return. Like the classic Seinfeld episode when George Costanza said I love you to a girl and her response was she was hungry...

Opus #2
It was fun.
No points for 4th.
Patrick H. from loonies is fast.
Beer and sliders after.
KW next weekend.
The Red Lantern is claiming this: "Yeah that's right. 21 laps, 47min, 27mph average"
I can not confirm but I know I hit 40 and above a few times... I'm just glad I don't have to be on the front pushing that pace, ouch.

Lebanon Hills
Went out today to leb with Grizz and Scott, The trail rocks and it was fun to be out there. Sucks not to be racing though...
But, I did notice a lot of people had tread on their tires causing damage to the trail. What the hell?
So from now on I will only run a fixed gear bike as not so skid and really wide slick tires to limit my trail damage. Also next time I go if I see people with knobby tires I'm going to be-little them and show them the damage they cause.
Ahh screw that. I'm going to design a bike that floats a few inches off the ground. So the only trail damage is caused by the trail builders ;) and our great mother.
I'm such a trail advocate I might not even ride on them any more. Shame on Mt. bike riders who ride off road trails. Shame on you ;)
I'm done with this subject now... I just find it funny.

Really?
So Opus was cool and seeing all those nice ladys out there was fun. But I only saw like 6 racing what gives? The first person who can name the best club to meet women will get a free muffin.
I guess "chammy chasing" goes both ways.
Next week I'll be wearing a name tag.
Hello, my name is Mike.

I had fun and will be looking to mix it up later in the year.
SR quote of the night. I saw him later in the race with a few lapes to go. "I say yo whats up Tim?" He says, "Haven't been droped, can't talk." Then he attacks.
Skibby is thinking he can't wait for us to come around again so he can try and close the gap to Doug for us...
heres a good one of Todd and I.

The Play Off Horseshoe.
I'm now rocking this and nice side burns:
A full moustache with vertical extensions grown on the corners of the lips and down the sides of the mouth to the jawline, resembling an upside-down horseshoe. The whiskers grown along the sides of the mouth in the horseshoe are sometimes referred to as "pipes." Not to be confused with the "fu manchu" which is grown long from the upper lip only-- the sides remain shaven in the fu manchu.
It's kind of creepy but I make it look good. While I was making this master piece I had some 70s porno music playing in the background.
---
I was 2 for 2 today on the head nods. One guy was even doing a track stand.

MORC
Having trails closed when they're obviously ok to be biked on is lame...
Personal I love what MORC does but they tend to turn me off with all the gaining up they do when some one questions there style.
You all should be happy for these "trail poachers." Where you see trail damage I see job security for your volunteer base and a greater opportunity for trail beautification.
I'm I a poacher or am I just smart enough to make my own decision if it’s ok to ride a trail or not?
Go to the MORC board if you want to see more...
MORC = assimilate or be one of them.

Another day.
Another ride. I saw two H-wood guys by the Mandota bridge who gave me the nod.
Then there was this older guy all dressed in black like a stealth fighter. He must have though I couldn't see him because he straight up punked me on Summit. I first saw him over by the Mandota house when I was a ways behind him, then again on Summit when we crossed paths. I know he saw me.
Next time I'll wave with my middle finger.

Tank business
WASECA, Minn. (AP) - A family's plan to open an obstacle course for tanks and other armored vehicles on the outskirts of Waseca has some neighbors concerned.
Tony Borglum and his family want to let customers drive tanks, scout cars and armored personnel carriers through an obstacle course that would likely feature small hills and varying terrain, according to their application for a permit from Waseca County.
Borglum said he got the idea after visiting a similar course in England last summer.
"Driving them around was a lot of fun and there was a lot of people doing it," he said. "Businessmen, bankers and kids were all doing it and having a good time."
Borglum has imported four armored vehicles from England, and may add four more soon. The cannons on the vehicles have been disabled, Borglum said.
The family's application also seeks permission to establish indoor and outdoor shooting ranges for small arms.
John Schiefelbein said he and other neighbors are worried about the safety of hosting a firing range.
The county planning commission plans to discuss the proposal on Thursday. Waseca is about 60 miles south of Minneapolis.
---
You know what, I'm ok with this. In fact this would be the only reason why I would go to Waseca. If they have enough land and aren't bothering anyone why not drive some tanks around? I heard on the news one lady say it was disrespectful to her son fighting in Iraq... She retarded, maybe she should stop driving her Toyota because we used those in Iraq too...
